To Play and Beyond!
We officially kicked off the start to Dragon Dash - Old Union's signature fall fundraiser - the biggest event of our school year. It's a multi-week campaign that turns every student into a fundraiser, builds a school-wide community, and closes with an epic obstacle course celebration on the playground! Our Dragon Dash Committee has been hard at work all summer to make this the best Dragon Dash yet!
This year's theme: Toy Story, To Play and Beyond - Inspired by Toy Story 5, Dragon Dash 2026 is built around one big idea: In a world where screens compete for every spare minute of childhood, imagination and play win.
All students are encouraged to take ownership of fundraising by reaching out to family, friends, and neighbors to collect donations for their school. There will be incentives throughout our fundraising period for the weekly top earning classes by grade, like popsicle parties, hat days, dance parties, bring your stuffy to school, donut party, and more! The student that raises the most money for Old Union will win the Ultimate Play Pass Package - which includes passes for the winner and their family or friends to enjoy Slick City Action Park, Galaxy Skate, and Hooky Entertainment!
Why are the kids raising money and where will it go?
Our mission this year is to put imagination, creation, and play back at the center of our Dragons' lives. We are not just raising money, but we're also funding experiences - the kind that stay with kids long after the fundraising is over. Donations raised this year will be used to fund additional educational, fun programs such as Dino George, author visits, Mobile Planetarium, and many more. In addition, we need to get our campus and playground ready for 5th grade!
How will pledges be tracked?
Students will be able to track donations in real time via BetterWorld. If family and friends need to donate to your Dragon by cash or check, please submit it electronically on their behalf! Click here to register your child in BetterWorld.
When does the pledge drive end?
The DEADLINE for your Dragon to submit donations is November 4th! Winners will be announced shortly after.
September 18: Dragon Dash Pep Rally& Student Pledge Drive Begins
October 2: Dragon Dash Market at OUES Family Picnic
November 4: Pledge Drive Ends
November 6: Dragon Dash Obstacle Course & Pie the Principal
